CSRP3

Associated conditions:

  • Cardiomyopathy

CSRP3 makes muscle LIM protein, a scaffold at the heart muscle's Z-disc that senses mechanical stress and helps organise the contractile machinery. Genetic changes in this gene are associated with an autosomal dominant risk of hypertrophic and dilated cardiomyopathy. Knowing your genetic status enables early cardiac monitoring and treatment, since these conditions can progress quietly toward heart failure.

Cardiomyopathy

Cardiomyopathy is disease of the heart muscle that can make it thickened, enlarged or weakened. Inherited forms can affect the heart’s pumping or rhythm, so carriers are monitored with heart scans and ECGs and treated early to protect heart function.
